HISTORY: The 2011-2012 season marked the return of the Langley Rivermen to the BCHL. With their return, a reignition of the lower mainland rivalry was revived. The Express hold a 6-3-0-1 record against the reincarnation of the Rivermen. In one previous meeting this season, the Express took a 3-2 victory here at the Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex.
LANGLEY: The Rivermen (7-6-0-2) head into Coquitlam with a 2-2-0-1 record over their last 5 games. They skated to a 6-5 win over the Surrey Eagles last night on home ice. Leading scorer, Mario Puskarich, continued his hot hand, potting 3 goals and an assist in the win. Defensemen, Bo Pellah, is another player to keep your eyes on, as he was named a prospect on the NHL Scouting Bureau's ranking of North American skaters.
COQUITLAM: The Express (8-5-1-0) are seeking their first win on home ice since Sept. 21st. They've gone (2-2-1-0) in their last 5 games, (2-5-1-0) overall on home ice. Both, Alexander Kerfoot & John Seimer, sit in the top 20 in league scoring at 16 points a piece. The Express goaltending duo of Daniel Urbani and Cole Huggins sit 1 & 2 in the BCHL in Save Percentage.
WHAT ELSE IS GOING ON: Kerfoot, Brandon Morley & Zachary Pryzbek will be out of the lineup today as they are in Calgary trying out for the Canada West team that will be participating in the World Jr. 'A' Challenge... Today is the annual "Pink out the Rink" game in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. The Express will be wearing pink jerseys that are available for auction over the next few days.
