11 Lower Mainland Players to Attend 2025 Training Camp

The Coquitlam Express are proud to announce that eleven players from the Lower Mainland who have signed for the upcoming season are attending Training Camp starting September 1st. Cultivating home-grown talent is at the heart of the Express’ mission, and this year’s cohort exemplifies the depth and quality of hockey development right here in our own backyard.

Local Players:

  • Cole Balkovec from Langley, BC
  • Tyler Magdalinski from Pitt Meadows, BC
  • Cole Bieksa from Vancouver, BC
  • Nate Crema from Burnaby, BC
  • Justin Ivanusec from Delta, BC
  • Luke Pfoh from Port Moody, BC
  • Shaenen Long from Vancouver, BC
  • Cooper Wilson from North Vancouver, BC
  • Noah Marshall from Chilliwack, BC
  • Liam Loughery from Pitt Meadows, BC
  • Mitchell Pearce from Delta, BC

“Bringing local players into our program has always been a cornerstone of our identity,” said President & General Manager Tali Campbell. “These eleven young men represent the dedication, passion, and skill that thrive in our community. We believe strongly in providing a pathway for local athletes to develop at the highest level, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see so many Lower Mainland talents answer that call.”

The Coquitlam Express have long been committed to partnering with grassroots hockey programs across the region—supporting development at every age level, from initiation through to junior competition. By spotlighting players who have grown up in our neighbourhood rinks and minor hockey associations, the organization not only strengthens its own talent pipeline, but also invests in the future of hockey throughout the Lower Mainland.

“Our coaching staff and scouts go to great lengths to follow local leagues and evaluate prospects,” added Campbell “When you have players who understand the community, share our values, and wear our colours with pride, it elevates the entire organization.”

Training Camp will get underway on September 1 at Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex, with on-ice sessions, fitness testing, and team-building activities scheduled through the week. Fans and family are encouraged to attend designated practice times to welcome these rising stars as they embark on their Coquitlam Express journey.
