Brandon Shaw accepts role closer to home with OHL Niagara IceDogs

The Coquitlam Express hereby announce that Head Coach and Assistant General Manager Brandon Shaw will be heading back home to Ontario and has accepted the role as the Assistant Coach with the OHL’s Niagara IceDogs.

“My time in Coquitlam has been very special. The organization is building towards a championship and I believe the great community of Coquitlam will see a Fred Page Cup very soon,” said Brandon Shaw. “I want to thank ownership for the incredible opportunity to lead and coach the Express. I would also like to thank GM Tali Campbell for believing and supporting myself, staff, and players at all times throughout my time here in Coquitlam. Thank you to Jeff, Justin, Gaelle and the rest of the staff for providing support and being top notch in every way. The Express are in great hands with the leadership in place. This is a special group and I look forward to cheering and watching the team win a championship in the near future!”
“This is a bittersweet moment. I knew the moment we hired Brandon we wouldn’t have him long as his dedication to his career is like no other person I have ever met. He works incredibly hard and I know I speak for players, staff and ownership. We are going to miss him,” said Tali Campbell, Express Chief Operating Officer and General Manager. “I also want to extend my thanks to Brandon for the last year, and my congratulations. I can’t wait to continue to watch his journey to the NHL.”
Brandon will continue working with the Express until the transition is complete and at this time no other changes have been made to the Hockey Operations staff. All inquiries will be handled by General Manager Tali Campbell.
