Former Coquitlam Express stars David Jones and Brandon Yip were key contributers in the Avalanche's 5-4 shootout win over the Redwings Tuesday Oct. 12.
Playing on the same line with Yip and centre Matt Duchene, Left Wing David Jones scored 2 goals including the tying goal into the third where Yip added a helper. Right Wing Brandon Yip scored the only goal in the six round shootout to win the game. David Jones also had an assist on the night.
Jones played three years with the Coquitlam Express from 2001-2004 and Yip played two years with the Express from 2003-2005. Both David and Brandon were the team Captain in their final year of junior hockey before heading to college.
