The Coquitlam Express are proud to unveil five initiatives that will strengthen their relationship with local minor hockey associations and their surrounding communities!

The five initiatives are:

  • Appointment of a minor hockey coordinator

Andy Hellweger will be the club’s first ever Minor Hockey Coordinator. His role is to liaison with all minor hockey associations, teams, coaches, partners etc.

  • Free season passes to all minor hockey players

Every minor hockey player will get free access to all Coquitlam Express games accompanied by an adult

  • Minor hockey guest coach program

A Coquitlam Express player will be assigned to a minor hockey team and will join the team’s coaching staff for minimum one practice per month to help work with players. This is available for 23 teams.

  • $5000 minor hockey scholarship program

The Coquitlam Express will be starting a $5000 scholarship scholarship program for minor hockey players who are in need of financial support for fees, equipment, academic scholarships etc. This will be made available through the Express Foundation.

  • Coaches mentorship program

The Coquitlam Express’ coaching staff will hold various seminars and workshops for minor hockey coaches. Our coaching staff will also be active with working alongside minor hockey coaches at their team’s practices.

The Express may call Coquitlam home, but Vice President and General Manager Tali Campbell believes that the team also serves the outer communities.

“Our priority moving forward is to make sure that the communities of Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Burnaby, and New Westminster know that we are part of their communities and that we want to be active members.”

The Express look forward to continually growing their relationships with local minor hockey associations and their surrounding communities and really embodying the idea of #WeAreAllExpress.
