The Coquitlam Express have made a trade ahead of the January 10th deadline, acquiring 1999 born defenceman Joey Berkopec from the Merritt Centennials in exchange for future considerations.
The Oakville, Ontario native is in his 3rd BCHL season, having suited up for 144 games, all with Merritt. This season, he has 3 goal and 14 assists in 37 games played. Berkopec adds depth and physicality to our back end as we make a push towards playoffs.
