Express beat Chiefs 5-4

The Coquitlam Express fight off the Chilliwack Chiefs right till the last second to win 5-4.

The Chiefs would open the scoring up at 3:08 by Nick Cherkowski however the Express would even things up by Austin Fraser. Less than two minutes late the Express would get ahead with a goal by Danny Pearson. The Chiefs would score late in the period by Connor Milburn, shorthanded to even things up.

It was scoreless for the majority of the second period until Ryan Tattle would sneak one by the Chiefs goaltender to give the Express the 3-2 lead heading into the dressing room.

The Express would add two power play goals first by Noah De La Durantaye at 1:03 followed by Danny Pearson at 12:37. The Chiefs would come fighting back scoring two late goals, first by Brett Rylance and with 11 seconds to go by Tommy Lyons. They would get a final second push on a breakaway but time would expire and the Express would win 5-4.

Express goaltender Joe Howe stopped 24 of 28 shots he faced.

The Express take on the Langley Rivermen tomorrow night.
