The Coquitlam Express are extremely pleased to announce that rookie forward Destry Straight has ranked at the top of the NHL Central Scouting list released on October 19, 2010.
Staight, who is leading the Express with 22 points (9G, 13A), has been named the player to watch in the BCHL. This category A listing identifies Destry as a 'must see' player who is predicted to be a potential First or Second Round Draft selection in the upcoming NHL Entry Draft.
Last year 17 year old Destry of West Vancouver was second in scoring in the BC Major Midget League, tallying 12 goals and 51 assists in 39 games with the Northwest Giants and is currently averaging 1.5 points per game with the Express.
Also appearing on the Central Scouting list is another Express rookie forward Mitchell Deacon. Deacon has been identified as a player that Central Scouting is tracking, a potential late round selection in the upcoming NHL Entry Draft.
