Express seek retribution versus Chilliwack

The Coquitlam Express have their first rematch of the season, with the Chilliwack Chiefs coming to Poirier Sports and Leisure Centre.

The Chiefs bested the Express just two games ago in Chilliwack’s home opener. It was a close fought contest that needed Overtime to decide a winner, where a lucky bounce for Chiefs forward Justin Dumais deflected off an Express defender and past Girard to end it.

There were some signs of worry in that game, as the Chiefs dominated the shot clock, outshooting the Express 49-19. However what Coquitlam lacked in quantity, they made up for in quality, with some excellent finishing from Chase Valliant.

Tonight the Express look to bounce back from a loss in their home opener against the Cowichan Valley Capitals, and they’ll have to do it without rookie Igor Silchenko, who is serving a one-game instigation suspension.

Defenseman Matt Hines draws out of the lineup, and forwards Matteo Kokkas and Christian Revel are back in to replace Hines and Silchenko.

As for the Chiefs, the only difference in the lineup from the game against Coquitlam previously is 7th defenceman Jack McCullough sitting, and rookie Koltin Herfst drawing in.

Puck drop at 7:00pm at the Train Station, tune in to FloHockey to catch the game with broadcasters Zach Clarke and Markus Gill!
