The Coquitlam Express have defeated the Langley Rivermen 4-3 in BCHL action.
The Express got set for the second half of their home and home weekend against the Rivermen. Off the back of the previous night’s 6-4 win at the Train Station. It was the first of 3 visits to George Preston Arena for the Express this season. Coquitlam would get on the board first. As Cole Bishop would get his 3rd on the season with a powerplay marker. Coquitlam would control the pace of play for the first period ending the period with 21 shots to Langley’s 6. Luke Pfoh would get his 2nd goal in back to back games and 3rd on the year, as Coquitlam would go up 2-0 late in the 1st. But they weren’t done yet. As Rasmus Dahlqvist would pot his 1st career BCHL goal to put Coquitlam up 3-0 heading into the 2nd period.
Langley would respond early in the 2nd. Scoring 2 goals 3 minutes apart, courtesy of Nick Bianchi on the powerplay and Tanner Winegard. Getting the Rivermen back within 1. Coquitlam would press looking for to re-instate their 2 goal lead. And after being awarded a powerplay. Cole Bishop would get his 2nd of the night putting Coquitlam back up by 2 leading into the final frame.
Coquitlam looked to shut the door in the 3rd, and finish off the weekend with back to back wins. Out of Langley’s 11 3rd period shots. 1 would find its way past Ryan Parker. As Christian Chouha would get Langley back within 1 as 17:28. They would pull Dylan Johnson, to get the extra attacker for the tying goal. But Ryan Parker would shut the door finishing with 23 saves on the night. En-route to a 4-3 Express win.
Coquitlam returns to the Train Station this Friday, October 31st at 7:00 PM. And be sure to dress up as they host the Surrey Eagles for the Express’ Halloween Game!
