Game Day! Coquitlam Express vs Cowichan Capitals (11/20/21)

The Coquitlam Express are set to host the Cowichan Capitals in the second half of a back-to-back set at the Train Station! Puck drop is at 7:00pm.

Coming off of a 4-1 loss at home last night to the Surrey Eagles, the Express are looking to get back in the win column with a bounce back victory here tonight. The Express have been playing great hockey as of late, posting a record of 3-1-1 in their last five outings, but last night was certainly not up to par. They started the game very slowly and were scored on within the first two minutes and found themselves down by a pair just 10 minutes into the game. Their comeback push was too little, too late and they were unable to claw back.

Tonight, the Express are prepared for a Capitals team that has had a fairly rough start to the 2021-22 season, earning only six points through 16 outings (17th in the BCHL). The Capitals are at the fourth stop of a five-game road trip – they have yet to find a victory on the road trip and are currently on a four-game losing streak overall. Notably, Cowichan has surrendered the second-most goals in the BCHL (74).

Connor MacKenzie will get the crease for the Express tonight as he’ll look to build on his phenomenal play as of late – the Toronto product has has gone 2-0-1 in his last three starts and posted a remarkable .968 SV% over that stretch, accompanied by a 1.25 GAA over the same trio of games.

The Express were undoubtedly disappointed with last night’s effort, so expect a hungry Express squad tonight at the Train Station!
