It was an overtime thriller back in game 2, as the Express and Chiefs went 7 total periods before Drew DellaSalla ended the game at 16:26 of the 4th overtime. The series now shifts to Coquitlam as both teams get set for a crucial game 3.
It was another back and forth game on Saturday. With the Express finding some more late game heroics this time from Justin Ivanusec to force overtime. It was a record breaking night in Chilliwack with 136:26 total in game time, a modern day BCHL record. Goaltender Ryan Parker would make 65 saves. While Captain Cooper Wilson had 67:40 time on ice. Both franchise records.
Quick Start
The Chiefs have opened the scoring in both meetings so far. With Maxmillian Brunner’s opening goal in game 2 coming just 2:34 into the game. Coquitlam will look to have a quick start and a strong first 10 minutes in tonights game to set the pace for game 3.
Who’s Hot?
Mitch Kneidel has no doubt been a top 3 Express player since the drop of the puck in playoffs. With 4 points in 2 games he sits tied for second in BCHL Playoff scoring, while also being a strong defensive presence for the Express.
Nicklas Numminen had himself a 2 point night in game 2 as well. Racking up 2 assists in the Chiefs win. He’s been a key piece for the Chiefs in the first two games and will look to help lead them to a win once again tonight.
