GAMEDAY: Express Look to Build off Game 1 Win

April 4th, 2026 – Jordan Dobrew

After a thrilling back and forth contest that needed overtime. The Express get set for game 2 against the Chiefs as they look to build off the momentum of last nights 5-4 overtime win.

It was back and forth all night between the Express and Chiefs with 9 total goals scored and 3 of them coming in the final two minutes of the game. Brady Engelkes’ game winner lifted the Express to a 1-0 series lead, marking the first time the Express have led the Chiefs in a playoff series since the Kyle Turris era. Coquitlam will look to cement a 2-0 series lead before the series shifts back to Coquitlam for games 3 and 4.

Shut Them Down

The Express were able to hold Jack Plandowski and Reese Shaw to no points in the opening game, and will look to replicate that tonight. As the first 10 minutes of the game will be crucial in dictating who swings momentum back into their favour.

Who’s Hot?

Geroge Stavrianeas picked up 2 points in last nights game 1 win. Getting his first goal in 7 games last night. He’ll look to keep his momentum going for a big game 2.

It was a hat trick performance last night for Boris Borin. Picking up all 3 goals in the 3rd period. He’ll look for another big night in the goal department to try and help the Chiefs even the series
