Introducing Assistant Coach Rob Boyd

You have probably noticed that there are a lot of new faces around the Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex this BCHL season. Among them is new Assistant Coach, Rob Boyd.

Rob's coaching career spans 25 years at the Bantam, Midget and Junior levels, including 10+ season in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL). His coaching accomplishments include a Provincial Midget Championship, BC Games Gold Medal, KIJHL League Championship and 3 KIJHL Coach of the Year awards.

Rob has worked as a regional scout for the Johnstown Chiefs and the Roanoke Express of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) as well as the Langley Chiefs (now the Chilliwack Chiefs, BCHL).

Rob spent the past two seasons as the Head Scout for the Merritt Centennials (BCHL).

Away from the rink, Rob is a qualified Conductor and Locomotive Engineer, currently working as an Employee Assistance Professional (EAP) with Canadian Pacific Railway's Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP).
