Hard work truly does pay off. For Express defender Leo Eperjesi, this has manifested in an invite to the Slovakian World Junior Selection Camp in December.
“I am very excited to go to the camp and hopefully get a spot on the final roster for the World Juniors”, said Eperjesi. “Playing two tournaments in the summer for Slovakia gave me a good feel of how hard it’s going to be to get there. Being with the Express has given me the perfect opportunity to get better every single day and prepare myself for the camp.”
So far this season, Leo has been a tough customer for opposing offences to deal with. The 6’3 defender uses his reach and skating ability to make an impact on the ice every game.
He is no stranger to representing his country, with over 45 games of experience at various international levels with Slovakia.
“Leo should be proud and excited with this opportunity. He has earned this camp invite from his hard work and sacrifice”, remarked Assistant Coach Kyle Johnson. “We are happy for him. He’s a great person and teammate. We’re all going to be rooting for him.”
