The Coquitlam Express are thrilled to announce the hiring of Kyle Johnson as the team’s new Assistant Coach. Johnson brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for the game, promising to be a valuable addition to the Express’ coaching staff.
Kyle Johnson joins the Express after an impressive tenure with the Prince George Spruce Kings in the BCHL, followed by four years at Yale University and two years over in France, where he has consistently demonstrated his strategic acumen and commitment to the game of hockey as a player.
“We are excited to welcome Kyle Johnson to our coaching staff,” said Coquitlam Express General Manager Tali Cambell. “His experience and understanding of the game will be instrumental in helping our players develop. His approach will be a players centric focus We believe his presence will greatly benefit our players and our organization as a whole.”
Johnson expressed his enthusiasm for the new role, stating, “I am thrilled to be joining the Express. Working with our players and the rest of the staff is an exciting opportunity. I expect this year to be full of chances to make an impact. I’m especially looking forward to starting our season off with camp in the next two months, before having a successful season on and off the ice.”
Johnson joins Jeff Wagner as part of the coaching staff for the 2024-25 season.
