General Manager Tali Campbell has announced that the Express have acquired Forwards Cam Russo (05) and Nolan Flynn (05) from the Surrey Eagles in exchange for Dane Pyatt (07), Ryan Staples (06), and Leo Eperjesi (05).
Russo has tallied 19 points in 38 games this season with Surrey after a successful year Captaining The Governor’s Academy in USHS-Prep where he manufactured 30 points in 23 games.
Flynn is a rocket out on the ice and his speed has grabbed him 15 points in 28 games. Last season he had 35 points in 27 games with St. Sebastian’s School in USHS-Prep action.
Staples has been a key fixture for the Express’ bottom six this season and had some important time on the penalty kill unit. He has 12 points in 37 appearances with Coquitlam.
Eperjesi is a presence on that backend to say the least. The big 6’3 Slovakian brings size, toughness and a good ability on the breakout.
Pyatt was a new face to the Express after being signed from the Spokane Chiefs in the WHL. The 17 year-old has seen action in five games and shows promise in a checking role with his size and speed.
