Coquitlam, BC – The Coquitlam Express Junior A Hockey Club has announced that Adam Nugent-Hopkins has been named Interim Coach for the 2020-2021 season.
Adam, the older brother of Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, assistant captain of the Edmonton Oilers, has been involved in the sport of hockey since the age of four in multiple facets of the game. Adam has played at the U sports level and has coached players from PeeWee to the NHL level both on ice and off-ice in performance strength training.
“We chose Adam as an Interim Coach because we needed someone who could jump in right away and be able to provide our players with the highest level of development. He has a passion for working with athletes and is committed to teaching them good habits on and off the ice” said Tali Campbell, Express Vice President and General Manager.
“I am excited to have been given the opportunity to work with what I understand is a great group of young men. I hope to be able to provide them with knowledge, support and passion for the game as well as the opportunity to learn from them” said Nugent-Hopkins.
Nugent-Hopkins will join the players on the ice this week as the BCHL continues to wait for the approval to return to play from the Provincial Health Officer.
