Oct. 19 – The Express took to the road Friday for a short, two-game road trip to the Interior Division. First stop, Trail, to take on the Smoke Eaters. Coquitlam was able to get out to a 4-0 lead and they didn't look back.
Express captain, Ryan Rosenthal, scored the opening goal on a breakaway just 46 seconds in. He would also tally the second Express goal with less than 2 minutes to go in the 1st Period.
Joey Santucci and Canon Pieper scored the third and fourth goals of the game, before Tyson Witala broke Pierce Dushenko's shutout.
The Express and Smoke Eaters would exchange one goal each in the 3rd Period to round out the scoring at 5-2 in favour of the visitors.
Zach Hodder recorded a goal and 2 assists in his second game with the Express. Santucci, Pieper and Rosenthal all added 2 point apiece. Dushenko turned aside 29 shots for his 2nd win of the season.
The Express are in Salmon Arm tonight to take on the Silverbacks at 7:00pm.
