The Coquitlam Express are excited to be hosting the Second Annual Score for Cancer Game this Saturday, December 17th against the Surrey Eagles at 6:00PM at Poirier Sports and Leisure Complex.
Score For Cancer is an initiative that was started last season by then Captain Ryan Tattle, who set a goal to raise money and awareness for the Canadian Cancer Society. Throughout last season he raised just over $101,000, with the grand total now being over $120,000! We are hoping to raise an additional $10,000 at the Score For Cancer game to add to the growing total.
This season’s game the team will be wearing the special themed Score for Cancer jerseys, there will be raffle items, and a bigger 50/50 jackpot. The game will be in tribute to Ryan Tattle’s mom Joanne Tattle who sadly passed away from her cancer battle on November 25th, 2022.
“Score For Cancer as an initiative means a lot to me, but after the recent passing of my mom I’m now even more inclined to make a difference. Seeing firsthand how difficult the battle with cancer is, motivates me to make a difference. I look forward to packing Poirier on the 17th and raising a lot of money.”
