There were handshakes all around the Train Station this weekend as the Express were saying hello to a new face while saying goodbye to an old one.
The Express have acquired forward Josh Smith from the North Delta Devils of the Pacific Junior Hockey League.
Express Head Coach Barry Wolff says Smith has been on his radar for awhile and is pleased to bring him on board at this time. "He will bring lots of energy and grit to our squad and we would like to thank the Devils and Coach John Craighead for his great development work with Josh".
Meanwhile the Express traded 20 year old Defenseman Matthew Berry-Lamontagna to the Penticton Vees for future considerations. Wolff says "We wish Matthew the best of luck in his future endeavours".
The Express play their third game of the weekend Sunday at 2PM when they take on the Nanaimo Clippers at the Frank Crane Arena.
