Express Notch First Preseason Win

Coquitlam, BC – August 28th, 2013 – As the BCHL regular season inches closer, the Coquitlam Express continue to evaluate the potential final roster that will open the season in Chilliwack, one week from this Friday.

With approximately 30 players remaining in Express camp, the team took on the Chilliwack Chiefs in their third game of the preseason schedule. Among the 20 players dressed for Coquitlam were newcomers Matthew Barry-Lamontagna (BCHL – West Kelowna) & Joey Santucci (WHL – Prince Albert).

The crowd in Hope, BC was treated to a fast-paced, crash & bang game, as players on both sides try and make a lasting impression on their respective coaching staffs. After scoring a lone goal in two games against the Langley Rivermen over the weekend, Coquitlam’s offense exploded for five goals from Santucci, Jackson Cressey, Nic Beaudin, Daniell Lange and Colton Kerfoot. All three Chiefs’ goals were tallied on the powerplay.

The Express wrap up their preseason schedule this Friday, August 30th, against the Powell River Kings. Puck drop is at 8:00pm in the Rec. Arena at the Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex. Tickets are $5 at the door, and free for kids 12 years of age and under.
