Express Ready for BCHL’s Best

Hockey fans in the Tri-Cities should buckle up and prepare for some Friday night fireworks at the Poirier Sports & Leisure Complex. The hometown Express are looking to make a statement against the BCHL leading Langley Rivermen as the Mainland Division rivalry is renewed for the 5th time in 2013/2014.

In a matchup that boasts 3 of the BCHL’s top 13 scorers, it’s no surprise that these two teams have combined for 35 goals in the 4 previous meetings this season. Mitch McLain leads his Rivermen team with 28 points (11G, 17A) in 23 games. Express forward, Adam Rockwood, has dished out a BCHL best 24 assists, and sits tied with McLain for 5th in overall points. Another member of the Express’ top line, Corey Mackin, sits 13th in BCHL scoring with 25 points and a team best 13 goals.

Fan favourite, Bo Pieper, and Captain Ryan Rosenthal are riding a 4 game point streak heading into Friday night. Mackin and Coquitlam native, Joey Santucci, have both scored a goal in each of the last 3 games.

No team in the BCHL has scored more than the Express this season, and they look to carry that trend from faceoff to final buzzer on Friday night.

Pre-game festivities get underway at 5:45pm with music, hockey activities & BBQ by donation, hosted by Thrifty Foods. For more information, or to order your tickets, contact the Express Office at (604) 936-4625, or info@coquitlamexpress.ca.
