The Coquitlam Express made a commitment to become a team that serves the Tri-City through a variety of programs and initiatives and the latest once is the announcement of the team hosting an Exhibition Game in the City of Port Moody in conjunction with Port Moody Minor Hockey.
The game will take place on Friday, September 9th at 7:00PM when the Coquitlam Express host the Surrey Eagles, this will be an inaugural event that is expected to become an annual event according to both Coquitlam Express General Manager Tali Campbell and Port Moody Minor Hockey President Stephanie Naqvi.
“This partnership is exciting for us as I felt last year we did not do a good enough job with connecting to the City of Port Moody and the minor hockey association and this is a great way to start this partnership and kickoff the season,” commented Tali Campbell “Working with Port Moody Minor Hockey Association, Port Moody Panthers and the City of Port Moody has been great as we are all working on the same goal.”
“We’re really excited to be partnering with the Express for this inaugural event that we think will help showcase the spirit of the hockey community,” said Stephanie Naqvi “Holding this event in Port Moody on our home ice makes this event extra special for Port Moody Amateur Hockey players!”
Both organizations will be releasing more details on the upcoming exhibition game in the coming weeks.
