Coquitlam bear the honour of being the first game of the 26-27 BCHL Showcase, against the Cranbrook Bucks. The Express come in fresh off an overtime victory against the Langley Rivermen, and will look to extend a 3-game win streak.
As for Cranbrook, they lost a tight overtime contest in their previous match against Trail, but won their prior 2 games.
Both teams find themselves in the middle of their division, in close battles with teams above and below in the standings.
The Bucks will look to get a lot of offense from their 3rd best in the league power play, and against a Coquitlam team that have the second-most PIM’s in their division, discipline will be crucial tonight for the Express.
However Cranbrook will have a tough time of their own trying to contain Coquitlam’s top line, with Chase Valliant and Justin Ivanusec only improving their chemistry more as the season goes along, which culminated in the pair connecting on the overtime winner against Langley.
Reinforcements have arrived for Coquitlam with Daniel Morozov returning from a minor injury, which means this is the most complete roster the Express have put out so far this year.
Puck drop is at 4pm MDT / 3pm PST, broadcaster Zach Clarke will have the game available on FloHockey!
