Game Preview: Chilliwack vs Express

Although the playoff matchups are already set in the Mainland Division, the Express look to finish off the BCHL schedule on a winning note with two matchups against the Chilliwack Chiefs this weekend. The Express' regular season home finale goes 7:00pm Friday at the PSLC, before heading to Chilliwack to conclude the regular season on Saturday.

The Express have enjoyed plenty of success against the Chiefs this season, winning four out of five meetings. These two final games will serve as a chance for Coquitlam to fine tune their style of play and get ready, before travelling to Prince George for their 1st round series of the Fred Page Cup Playoffs.

Meanwhile, this weekend marks the end of the Chief's season, as they are unable to move higher than 5th in the division. This weekend will be the last chance for fans to watch Chilliwack’s leading scorer, Mathieu Tibbet, who's 27 goals and 22 assist has led to his commitment to Merrimack University. It will also be the last weekend in the BCHL for Chief’s forward Zach Diamantoni who will play his Division 1 hockey for Northern Michigan next season.

Friday night's home finale is packed with entertainment for the whole family, kicking off with a Joey Coquitlam BBQ at 5:30pm in support of Crossroads Hospice Society. Prior to puck drop, the Express will also introduce the player's on this year's team who have earned year-end team awards.

Fans can purchase a special ticket that includes entrance to the game, food at the pre-game BBQ and a donation to the Crossroads Hospice Society in advance of Friday. Please contact the Crossroads Hospice Society's Administrative Office at (604) 945-0606, or their Thrift Store at (604) 949-0459.
