GAMEDAY: Express Get Set For Game 1 of BCHL Playoffs

After wrapping up the regular season last Sunday, the Coquitlam Express now gear up for game 1 of the 2026 Rogers BCHL Playoffs against the Chilliwack Chiefs.

The season series drew in favour of the Chiefs as they took the last meeting of the season 7-1 back on March 29th. The home team is yet to lose a game when these teams face off this season. With Coquitlam taking their three games and the Train Station, and the Chiefs taking all four at Chilliwack Coliseum.

Exercising Demons

This will be the 10th time in BCHL Playoffs history the Express and Chiefs match up with one another. As the Express will look exercise some demons and get their first playoff series win against the Chiefs. The most recent playoff matchups came back to back in 2022 and 2023. With the Chiefs taking the series in 7 and 5 game respectively.

Who’s Hot?

Tyler Chiovetti picked up Coquitlam’s lone goal this past Sunday in Chilliwack, giving him a total of 14 on the season. He’d finish the year with 42 points in 53 games, good enough for second on the Express in points this season.

Nico Grabas finished the regular season as the BCHL’s top scorer with 76 points in 50 games. He capped off the season with a 2 point outing against the Express, finishing the year out with 10 points in his final 6 games.
