Series Shifts Back to Coquitlam for Game 6 on Tuesday

The Mainland Division series between the Prince George Spruce Kings and your Coquitlam Express shifts back to Coquitlam for Game 6 on Tuesday night.
Monday night was a thrilling game in the Prince George Coliseum. The Express jumped out to an early lead thanks to Corey Mackin. At 14:50 of the 1st Period, Ryan Rosenthal picked up a Spruce Kings turnover and carried it into the offensive zone before finding Mackin on the 2-on-1 break.
The Spruce Kings would get back into the game late in the 2nd Period when they finally broke through on the powerplay. Justin Rai faked a shot before firing across the ice to Mitch Eden for a one-timer.
Prince George would tally the next goal at 7:41 of the 3rd Period. The Spruce Kings top line of Staley, Rai and Leudtke were able to poke the puck to the back of the net after a goal mouth scramble.
Despite the goal, the Express did not fold, and less than 4 minutes later, Bo Pieper released a perfect shot that beat PG goaltender Alex Murray.
Regulation and one Overtime wouldn’t be enough on this night. It took all the way into the 2nd Overtime, when Jeremiah Leudtke found a rebound in front of the Express net to tuck it past Gordie Defiel for the win.
Defiel had another outstanding game, turning aside 53 shots on the night.
The series resumes tonight at 7pm at the Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex in Coquitlam.
