Monday was trade deadline in the BCHL and the Coquitlam Express finalized their roster for the remainder of the 2010/11 season adding forward Tyler Griffith, defenseman Cody Castro and goalie Billy McGladrey.  These acquisitions sent goaltender Luke Hernandez to Fresno, California and Mitch Pacey to the Junior B Delta Icehawks.

Griffith, 19, played 27 games with the Russell Stover Major Midget Tier 1 team where he tallied 11 goals and 9 assists. Tyler is a skilled puck moving forward with a high compete level and the ability to sniff out scoring chances.

Cody Castro, from Pasadena, California, joins the Express from the Fresno Monsters of the NAHL. The 19 year old spent 3 years in the WHL and is a stay at home defenseman, his large size makes it difficult for the opposition to go to the net.

Billy McGladrey, 17, is a Chilliwack BC native and played the start of his rookie year for the Osoyoos Coyotes of the Kootney International Junior League.  In 12 games McGladrey has 9 wins between the pipes with a 2.88 goals against average.  McGladrey?s large body covers the net and he has a wide range of motion.  With time he will grow into his body and is expected to develop into a starting goal tender.

The Express welcome Griffith, Castro and McGladrey to the team and wish all the best to Hernandez and Pacey.
