Andrew Ladd – Coquitlam Express 2002-03

After being cut by the Vancouver Giants Andrew Ladd came to the Express thinking his hockey career was over.  He quickly found his groove and became a fan favourite early on.  Ladd tallied 15G, 40A and 61PIM and received team Rookie of the Year honours.  It wasn't long before another WHL team came calling and Ladd was quickly off to the Calgary Hittmen.

In 2004 Ladd was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes who he won a Stanely Cup with in 2006; he won his second cup with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2010.  Andrew is now the captain of the Winnipeg Jets.

Kyle Turris – Burnaby Express 2005 -07

There is no question that Kyle Turris is the most outstanding Express alumni to date.

As a 16-year-old in the British Columbia Hockey League, Turris scored 72 points in 57 games for the Burnaby Express in 2005-06 and was awarded the Bruce Allison Memorial Trophy for the Coastal Conference as rookie of the year. The following year, he finished second in league scoring with 121 points and was named the Coastal Conference's Most Valuable Player. Adding 26 points in 14 games, Turris led the Express to the BCHL championship, advancing to the 2006 Royal Bank Cup, Canada's national Junior A championship. He would score a hat trick in the final game against the Yorkton Terriers of the SJHL and led the tournament in scoring as the Express won the championship.

In 2007 Turris was drafted by the Phoenix Coyotes 3rd overall and is the highest drafter Junior A player in Canadian history.
