The Coquitlam Express are proud to announce that veteran defenceman Cooper Wilson has been named team captain for the upcoming 2025-26 BCHL season.
Wilson, entering his third season with in the BCHL, second with the Express, has become a cornerstone of the team both on and off the ice. Known for his strong leadership, work ethic, and consistent play, Wilson has earned the respect of his teammates, coaching staff, and the wider Express community.
“Cooper embodies what it means to be an Express player,” said President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Tali Campbell. “He leads with integrity, holds himself and others accountable, and is always willing to go the extra mile for the team. There was no doubt in our minds that he was the right choice to wear the ‘C’ this season.”
Cooper is an active member of the community, volunteering at a lot of Express events while also being a vocal presence in the dressing room. His commitment to the team’s culture and his relentless drive for success have made him a natural leader.
“I’m incredibly honoured to be named captain,” said Wilson. “This organization means a lot to me, and I’m excited to lead this group of guys as we work towards our goals this season. I know we have something special here, and I’m ready to get to work.”
Assistant captains for the 2025-26 season will be announced in the coming weeks as the team prepares for main camp and the start of the regular season.
