The Coquitlam Express are proud to announce the launch of The Hockey Lab, a structured hockey and goalie development program operating out of the newly established Express Performance Centre in Coquitlam.
At the core of the facility is a dedicated synthetic ice training sheet, purpose-built for goalie development and skill progression. The Hockey Lab utilizes this surface to deliver a year-round, structured training system built around four key performance pillars: Movement, Tracking, Execution, and Mindset.
Located at Unit 211, 1020 Austin Avenue, the Express Performance Centre is quickly becoming one of British Columbia’s premier hockey training environments. The combination of synthetic ice and integrated off-ice training space allows for focused, high-repetition skill development in a controlled setting — something not traditionally available in the Tri-Cities.
“The goal with the Express Performance Centre is to create a true development hub for hockey players in our community,” said Tali Campbell, President and General Manager of the Coquitlam Express. “The Hockey Lab is a major step in that direction — providing structure, consistency, and a clear pathway for athletes, especially goalies, who are often underserved in traditional programming.”
Charter Athlete memberships are now available at $349/month, with a limited number of founding spots that lock in this rate for life. Each membership includes two weekly sessions: one private technical session and one group compete session. Standard membership pricing will be $399/month once charter spots are filled. The official grand opening is set for July 1, 2026.
In addition, a five-day Goalie Development Camp will run from July 6–10, open to athletes ages 8–13. The camp will feature small-group, goalie-specific training on synthetic ice, with a maximum of three goalies on the surface at a time to ensure individualized attention. Limited loaner equipment will be available for younger participants. Only ten spots are available at $449.
The launch of The Hockey Lab represents a continued investment by the Coquitlam Express into grassroots and high-performance development within the Tri-Cities, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to building a complete pathway for athletes on and off the ice.
