Coquitlam, B.C., November 25, 2010:
COMMITS TO BOSTON COLLEGE
Straight has had many eyes on him since the NHL Central Scouting released their list in October and put him at the top in category A as a player to go first round in next years draft. With all the attention and a good start to the season, 10G & 18A in 27 games, Destry had a few options but is very happy with settling on Boston College.
The NCAA Division 1 hockey program is lead by head coach Jerry York and has appeared in 6 Frozen Four Finals since 2001, winning 3 championships, including last year.
Coquitlam head coach Jon Calvano thinks it's “great that Destry is going to a top 3 ranked school for both athletics and education”. It is unknown at this time which year Destry will join the Boston College roster.
Ice chips: Destry Straight is the third Express player this year to commit, Garrick Perry (Alaska Fairbanks), Brad Reid (Rochester Institute of Technology).
