Express acquire Jackson Murphy-Johnson from Capitals

The Coquitlam Express Junior A Hockey Club has acquired the playing rights of 2002-born defensemen Jackson Murphy-Johnson from the Cowichan Valley Capitals in exchange for future considerations.

MurphyJohnson spent last season with the Trail Smoke Eaters playing in 38 games while previous to that playing two seasons with the U18 Vancouver NorthEast Chiefs.
“I have known Murphy-Johnson for a few years and was really excited when the opportunity came up for us to get him.” commented Dan Cioffi head coach and assistant general manager of the Coquitlam Express.
“Jackson is an experienced veteran defenceman who will give us an immediate boost on the blueline,” says Express vice president Tali Campbell “He’s a skilled puck-mover with a hard shot and good size who will contribute positively in all three zones. We’re very happy to add a player of Jackson’s ability to our defence corps.”
