The Coquitlam Express are excited to announce the signing of 2008 born defenceman Todd Kilpela.
Kilpela, 17, is a native of Hancock, Michigan and spent last season with the Victory Honda U18AAA team. Scoring 8 goals and 32 assists for 40 points in 61 games played. He’d also suit up for 3 games with the Austin Bruins in the NAHL. He’d then start the 2025-26 season with Austin, playing in 1 game before signing with Coquitlam. Kilpela is committed to Michigan Tech University for the 2027-28 season.
“Todd is a smooth-skating, two-way defenseman who defends very well while also bringing some offensive ability to his game,” said Tali Campbell, Express General Manager. “As a 2008-born player, he has a lot of upside, and we feel he can come in and be a strong contributor to our backend alongside the group we already have.”
