EXPRESS DERAILED BY TWO HOT OFFENCES

Nov. 19 – With the return of Alexander Kerfoot, Brandon Morley & Zachary Pryzbek to the lineup this past weekend, the Express were hoping for better results than they experienced. Despite back-to-back losses against the Chilliwack Chiefs and Vernon Vipers, the Express maintain 4th Place in the Mainland Division, 5 points back of Surrey and Prince George for 2nd.
Saturday night in Chilliwack marked the 5th matchup of the year against the Chiefs. The Chiefs extended their record over the Express to 4-0-1-0. Heading into the matchup, the Express looked to shut down the Josh Hansen, Luke Esposito, Austin Plevy line, which has been tearing up the BCHL all season long. With the exception of a powerplay goal late in the 2nd Period, the Express managed to do just that. It was the unusual characters that stepped up for the Chiefs this go around. Ryan Donohue lead the way with 2 goals and an assist for the Chiefs. Philip Zielonka continued to strong play, netting the only Express goal of the game and his 12th point in 10 games with the team. The game ended with a 5-1 final in favor of the Chiefs.
Sunday's matinee brought along the 6-time National Champion Vernon Vipers and their highly touted prospect, Adam Tambellini. He didn't disappoint. The Port Moody Minor product opened the scoring 23 seconds in and would go on to a hat trick and 3 assists when the dust settled. Pearce Eviston was the recipient of Tambellini's playmaking as he also netted himself a hat-trick.
Philip Zeilonka led the way for the Express as he had a 4 point evening (1 goal, 3 assists). John Seimer and Alexander Kerfoot also had 1 goal and 1 assist each.
Vernon managed to break their mini-losing skid, prevailing over the Express 7-5.
