Express Hire Patrick Sexton as Head Coach

The Coquitlam Express are excited to announce Patrick Sexton as the team’s new Head Coach.

Sexton, originally from Ottawa, is a familiar face in the BCHL. He played two seasons with the Penticton Vees where, as Captain, he led the team to a Fred Page Cup Championship in 2014-2015. For the last three BCHL seasons, he was the Assistant Coach on the Vees, winning the Fred Page Cup this past year.
“Our goal was to bring a combination of experience and success,” said Tali Campbell, Coquitlam Express General Manager. “Patrick’s route to become our next Head Coach is the ideal one, having played in our league, captained his team, then headed off to University where he played with the University of Wisconsin Badgers before coming back to coach. He has taken all the right steps to become a Head Coach in our league. He has won as a player. He has won as an Assistant Coach. The next step in the journey is to win as a Head Coach.”
“I’d like to thank Graham & Sue Fraser, Fred Harbinson and everyone associated with the Penticton Vees organization. They have been nothing short of amazing and did so much for me during the five years spent there,” said Sexton. “I’d also like to thank Fayaz Manji and GM Tali Campbell for this incredible opportunity with the Express. I’m extremely excited to take this next step in my coaching career and can’t wait to get started. I’ve been fortunate enough to win a Fred Page Cup as both a player and coach in this league. I’m looking forward to working with the management, staff and players to bring a championship back to Coquitlam.”
The Coquitlam Express kickoff Main Camp on September 2nd.
