Express reacquire Arlo Merritt

The Coquitlam Express Junior A Hockey Club have announced they have reacquired the Canadian playing rights to 2001-born Arl Merritt from the USHL’s Sioux Falls Stampede in exchange for future considerations.

Merritt was traded to the Stampede in January of this past year from the Express to complete his season down in the USHL as at the time the BCHL season was still uncertain, in 32 games with the Stampede he tallied four points in 32 games. In the 2019-2020 season Merritt suited up for the Chilliwack Chiefs and tallied 21 points in 48 games.

“Arlo is going to be a big piece to our roster this coming year. We put a lot of energy to acquire him from Chilliwack last season but understood why he needed to leave to play in the USHL.” said Tali Campbell, Express general manager “Reacquiring him bolsters our roster. He is a dynamic, consistent player that we will need to count on every game.”

The Coquitlam Express kick off their Main Camp on September 17th.
