Express remain atop WCC standing despite 4-1 loss to Yorktown.

The Coquitlam Express dropped their first game of the Western Canada Cup to the Yorkton Terriers 4-1on Wednesday night, but still remain atop the standings three games into round robin play in Dauphin, Manitoba.

The loss snaps an eight game playoff winning streak for the Train, who can still finish in first place with a win in their final round robin game.

The Express played without Captain Ryan Rosenthal who was injured in the Monday night win against the Winnipeg Blues.

Yorkton scored two goals in the first and two more in the third to post the win.

The lone Express goal came from Joey Santucci, taking Rosenthal's spot on a line with Adam Rockwood and Corey Mackin.  The goal came at 5:04 of the first period to tie the game.  Rockwood and Mackin drew the assists.

The Express still have the best record after three games of round robin play at  2-1, tied with the WCC  host squad the Dauphin Kings, who they take on in their final round robin contest.  The winner will advance to the elimination round as the top seed.

Marc Biega was named the Express player of the game,  Gordie Defiel faced 43 shots while taking the loss.

The Express take on the Kings on Thursday night at 7pm Central (5pm Pacific).
