TOUCHDOWN! Express 7 – Rivermen 6

You ready? Get comfortable as there were A LOT of goals in this game, like football score a lot. The Express were able to sneak the two points scoring 7 goals.

In the first period it was a back and forth game, Coco Armstrong would get the Express the lead early but Walker Gelbard of Langley would retaliate. Mirko Buttazzoni would regain the Express’ lead but again shortly the Rivermen would tie the game up. Before the end of the period Mateo Dixon on the powerplay would give the Express the lead.

The Express would get ahead by two at the 4:26 mark of the second period by a point shot by Tait Ross. The Rivermen would score two goals in the second frame, first on the powerplay by Andrej Kovacevic and secondly by Nikolas Hoogendoorn.

It was a cluster in the third period with goals and penalties, there were a lot of them. Express would score three goals, two by Gavin Giesbrecht and one by Mirko Buttazzoni and two goals by the Rivermen but it wasn’t enough as the Express would take the game 7-6.

The Express are back in action Sunday afternoon against the Nanaimo Clippers.
