Express announce commitment to Ben Coghlan

Coquitlam, BC – The Coquitlam Express Junior A Hockey Club has committed to Nanaimo native Ben Coghlan for the 2021-2022 Season.

Coghlan, 2003-born defenseman is currently playing with the Campbell River Storm of the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL), where in eight games this season has tallied five points. Last season for the Nanaimo Buccaneers he tallied 27 points in 45 games.
“He can produce as a defenseman, but what I really like about Ben is his skating and his hockey IQ for his age group.” said Tali Campbell, Vice President and General Manager for the Coquitlam Express “I have been able to watch Ben now for three years and every year he makes massive improvements to his game and I look forward to be able to rely on him next season.”

Prior to the VIJHl, Coghlan spent time with the North island Silvertips U18 AAA team and with the Pacific Coast Academy Elite 15s.

“I chose the Express because I think it’s the best team that suits my playing ability.” said Ben Coghlan  “I’ve only ever heard good things about the Express and having one of my cousins play for the team helped. I’m excited for my future with the express.”
Coghlan joins recently committed players Trey Fechko, Jeremy Tremblay and Owen Kim to the list for next season.
