Express forward accepts Division 1 Scholarship

Cody Boyd has agreed to attend the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York.

Boyd says playing for the Army Black Knights the fullfillment of one of his hockey dreams.  Boyd says " I would like to thank my family and my coaches, Barry Wolff and Rob Boyd, for allowing me to chase my dream of playing Division 1 Hockey".

Express Head Coach Barry Wolff says it takes a special player to suceed at Army, "Cody has the great character and commitment needed to attend a school like Army, he will be a great addition to the Black Knights, we are very proud to have Cody as a member of the Coquitlam Express.

Boyd, a native of Johnstown, PA., is in his first BCHL season and has posted a goal and seven assists in 23 games for the Express. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound forward has also recorded 34 penalty minutes on the season.

Cadet Boyd will enroll at West Point in the fall of 2014.
