The Coquitlam Express have traded 2007 born forward Cole Bieksa to the Vernon Vipers in exchange for Future Considerations.
Bieksa, 18, is in his 1st season of junior hockey. Scoring 3 goals and 6 assists for 9 points through 23 games played with the Express this season. The native of Vancouver, BC signed with the Express back in February after an impressive 31 goals and 78 points in 52 games with Fairmont Prep U18 AAA.
“We want to thank Cole and wish him the best in Vernon,” said Tali Campbell, Express President and General Manager. “Cole is a great kid who wears his heart on his sleeve, and you don’t find many players today who carry themselves the way he does. Ultimately, given the depth of our team this season, Cole deserved a larger opportunity—one we weren’t able to provide here—and we believe this move gives him the best chance to continue his development.”
