Head Trainer/ Equipment Manager for the Coquitlam Express
The Coquitlam Express are looking for a Head Trainer/Equipment Manager to join our team. A Certified Athletic Therapist is preferred with previous sports team experience on the bench and in the dressing room.
Description of roles.
Athletic Therapist:
-Must be a certified member of CATA
-Must be a certified first responder
-Taping and wrapping of players before practices and games
-Treating injuries
-Communicating with team personnel and medical staff (Doctors, Chiropractors, Physios, etc.)
-Documenting treatments
-Baseline concussion testing
-Hydration testing
-Inventory and stock of medical supply
Equipment manager:
-Skate sharpening
-Laundry with a supplied machine at the rink
-Dressing room maintenance/cleaning
-Game day set up of dressing room/gear
-Players gear and apparel inventory
-Maintenance of players gear and jerseys/socks (if need repair send out)
-Pack up equipment for road trips
The ideal candidate will have previous training experience in hockey but is not necessary. Must be a highly motivated and organized individual who wants to be part of a proud and respected program and work with dedicated athletes in a fast paced environment.
