Express And Eagles Set To Battle Tonight

Tonight's game features the Coquitlam Express hosting the Surrey Eagles in a Mainland Division mid week matchup.  The Express have had success in games with Surrey so far this season, sporting a 2-1 record against them.
In their first matchup, Adam Rockwood and Joey Santucci led Coquitlam to a 5-2 win with three and two points respectively while Gordie Defiel was the winning goaltender with 23 saves. Defiel was at it again in Coquitlam's second meeting with Surrey, saving 42 shots in a 5-1 win. Three points each by Ryan Rosenthal and Adam Rockwood earned them the second and third star behind Defiel in that game.
Meanwhile, Surrey was able to take two points from their previous visit to the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex on October 16th. Two assists from Jonah Renouf and two goals by Brett Mulcahy helped the Eagles squeak by with a 5-4 win. Mulcahy who will be playing NCAA hockey at Holy Cross and Renouf who has committed to Quinnipiac, will both be looking to repeat their performance tonight when they come to town.
Coquitlam and Surrey have combined for 22 goals in three games this season so expect a fast, attractive, and high scoring game tonight. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the PSLC.
